June – Week 3 – Drywall finished, cast-stone, bargeboards, grading & cleaning . . . whew!
Once the drywall is installed and mudded, it needs a bit of time to dry, and then it is ready for sanding/finishing.
June – Week 2 – Making cast-stone caps & reworking Front Porch bargeboards
Many ‘Craftsman’ houses have porch columns that are half masonry and then have a short tapered column on top.
June – Week 1 – Drywall installed and finishing up final brick details
Knowing that the drywall was coming on Wednesday – we set off to complete some little things to prepare for its arrival.
May – Week 4 – Brick goes on at chimney and front porch, corbels at garage, and more insulation
Another busy and exciting week as the exterior of the house starts to take on more design character!
May – Week 3 – Final insulation & front porch deck framing
The insulation guys were back on Monday to put in the fiberglass batts in the wall cavities.
May – Week 2 – Attic & more sound insulation, & even more demo!
Pretty quiet around 637 Polk this week . . . until Friday.
May – Week 1 – More insulation & framing re-inspected
As we approach getting the drywall installed, we are focusing on getting everything done inside the walls before they get covered up.
April – Week 4 – Basement furring/insulation, Kitchen window, & sound insulation
I mentioned last week that we were going to have to do a couple of things in the basement to meet the current building code which weren’t required by the code 35 years ago.
April – Week 3 – More thin brick, other random projects
We were determined to finish up the brick cutting this week.
