Not much visible progress this week, but a lot of preparation to get ready for a flurry of activity next week!
Once the drywall is installed and mudded, it needs a bit of time to dry, and then it is ready for sanding/finishing.
Many ‘Craftsman’ houses have porch columns that are half masonry and then have a short tapered column on top.
Knowing that the drywall was coming on Wednesday – we set off to complete some little things to prepare for its arrival.
Another busy and exciting week as the exterior of the house starts to take on more design character!
The insulation guys were back on Monday to put in the fiberglass batts in the wall cavities.
Pretty quiet around 637 Polk this week . . . until Friday.
As we approach getting the drywall installed, we are focusing on getting everything done inside the walls before they get covered up.
I mentioned last week that we were going to have to do a couple of things in the basement to meet the current building code which weren’t required by the code 35 years ago.
We were determined to finish up the brick cutting this week.
